Jackrabbit Publisher™ is an Agilant Learning
technology used to rapidly assemble and PUBLISH
dynamic learning content in XDS™ format. To
create XDS™ format learning objects, we take
original (or newly created) media files, create
a spreadsheet data file, then use Jackrabbit Publisher™
to export. These exported learning objects can physically
reside outside the LMS, while providing SCORM delivery
inside any SCORM-conformant LMS, effectively solving
many content distribution problems.
Jackrabbit Publisher™ utilizes
principles of reusable learning object design, and
exports fully portable, SCORM-conformant, XDS™
format learning objects. Jackrabbit Publisher™
comprises the following features:
- Spreadsheet assembly: Assemble
learning content using a spreadsheet. Use the
columns and rows in the spreadsheet to create
your course map, navigation “breadcrumbs”,
page text, and link to video, animation, and graphic
files, and to HTML links. Reorder, insert, or
delete learning objects by inserting, deleting,
or moving rows in the spreadsheet.
- SCORM conformant: Export SCORM
conformant learning objects
- Flexible learning object granularity:
Export learning objects at the Module level (three
layers of hierarchy), Lesson level (two layers
of hierarchy), or topic level (one layer of hierarchy)
- Dual Use, Rapid Development: Use
the spreadsheet for both 1) Script/storyboarding,
and 2) Course Authoring, reducing redundant development
steps. Because Jackrabbit Publisher™ uses
the familiar spreadsheet format, course authoring
and maintenance is fast and flexible, and collaborative
development is easy, just email the spreadsheet
to the person who needs to edit the course.
- Publishing GUI: In the Publishing
Graphic User Interface (GUI), the user can select
content input (spreadsheet) location, content
output location, learning object granularity,
look and feel template, and language
- Quizzes, Flashcards and Interactive
Practice Exercises: Auto-generate Quizzes,
Flashcards and other interactive practice exercises
from data in your Excel file.
- Choose Your Look and Feel:
Select from several look and feel templates.
- Developer reports: View development
progress with online reports that show which media
files have been added, to the course, which are
remaining to be added, and file version dates
for all media files.
